2006 A Banner Year

 

2006 was a banner year for the Community Bankers Association of Alabama.  In this important general election year, the association made history by hosting the first ever Political Forum featuring candidates for election to the offices of Governor, Lieutentant Governor, Attorney General and Treasurer.

 

The event, held in August, broke all previous attendance records and was held in conjunction with its FDIC Directors College & CEO/Executive Management Conference.

 

The associations political action committee enjoyed a 92% success rate in its contributions to candidates elected in the November general elections and raised more money than at any time in the association’s history.  The Leadership Community Bankers Division made its highest contribution ever to the PAC in the amount of $15,000, spotlighting the support the young bankers in Alabama provide to the associations political efforts.

 

In addition, the association launched a new interactive, member-driven website at www.MyCBAA.com providing members the latest and best technology available for the various avenues of participation in their association.

 

The association’s education division enjoyed significant growth during the year and its subsidiary, CBAA Services, Inc., which now offers ten valuable endorsements, posted record savings for its member banks during the 2006 year.
