COVINGTON COUNTY BANK – One of Alabama’s Top Performing Banks.
Covington County Bank was recently featured as one of the Top 50 Banks In Alabama in the publication, Business Alabama. According to asset size, CCB ranked 41st and ranked 2nd among these in return on assets, a measure of performance. CCB continues to grow as this year it has reached over 206 million in loans to individuals and businesses in our community. The history behind Covington County Bank began in July 1947 when 6 investors provided the capital necessary to begin business. CCB opened its doors with operating capital of $170,000 and five employees on staff. Today we have grown to 75 employees, which total 578 years of banking experience, and a current asset size of $258 million.
From the beginning CCB has strived to provide the best for customers in service and products. CCB provided several “first in the county” services that were offered to its customers – the first auto window for drive-in banking services, 24-hour banking services with a mail slot for envelopes, electronic check imprinting, and nationwide credit card service “BankAmericard”. CCB was also the first to provide the convenience of check imaging. As technology progressed into the year 2000, CCB provided their customers with Internet Banking/Online Billpay and Business Cash Management. You can access this site at www.bankccb.com.
