CBAA Education Program

When CBAA was formed in 1986 Professional Development was an integral part of our association. Through the years that ideal has been expanded to include telephone/webcast seminars, over 40 live seminars annually, the Community Banking School at Samford University and now internet training.

A variety of topics will be included in the association’s portfolio of live seminars during 2007. Popular speakers such as Ann Brode will be speaking on the Bank Secrecy Act and Strategic Planning. Charles Williams will present security training, Dianne Barton will speak on Safe Deposit Training and Business Development. In addition to the speakers and topics listed above we will once again be presenting our Banking on Compliance program.

Because there are a multitude of compliance regulations that are constantly changing, staying in compliance is a challenging as well as a never ending process. CBAA has been offering a comprehensive program entitled Banking on Compliance for a number of years. Annual membership in CBAA’s Banking on Compliance program consists of three integrated services including: four annual compliance seminars including detailed manuals; a quarterly compliance newsletter and a toll-free hotline.

For the fourth straight year CBAA will host telephone/webcast seminars which will offer a cost effective way to provide training on over 80 topics of interest in 2007. This training method allows unlimited listeners on your office speaker phone. No travel expense or travel time are involved in this unique professional development avenue.

New to CBAA’s training department will be the inclusion of discounts on internet training and video options. Through a newly endorsed agreement with Bankers Training Certification Center, BAI we will offer 15 – 20% discounts on these important products and services.  For more information on this program please contact the association or Bankers Training Center's CBAA website www.bankerstraining.com/partners/cbaa.

The Community Banking School at Samford University offers a comprehensive continuing education program. It is designed for professionals who want to bring new ideas and provide better service to their customers. Through in-depth discussions led by top banking experts, students interact with their peers from other community banks and affiliates in Alabama exchanging ideas and learning the latest concepts in customer service and management.

The Annual Convention, CEO, Executive Management and Directors Conference and Leadership Community Bankers Annual meeting all provide top quality educational topics presented by leaders in the community banking arena.

As you review the options available to CBAA member banks on an on-going basis we are sure that you will find a training resource here that will meet whatever specific need your institution may desire.
